I'm usually not a great fan of baked cheesecake, but this was divine. very impressed.
I recently had a lovely lunch at Smooth Brew Cafe on the main street of Gympie. My partner also enjoyed his milkshake. The service was excellent, with friendly staff attending to us. We will definitely be returning when we are in Gympie again.
Main street cafe still providing quality efficient lunches in Main Street of Gympie town. Recent change of ownership but blackboard specials still available. Today home made chicken schnitzel chips and salad $11.90 and chicken roulade with mashed potato for same price. Good value for decent...serving size. The home made schnitzel was definitely home style and better salad that I was served at the local RSL last night. Maybe it’s time for locals and visitors to give the little eating places a go and give some of the other takeaway joints a miss. Friendly service as always from Jenny at the counter. Make sure you read the local newspaper available for all the local news and court appearances.
Driving through Gympie today we decided to find a place for a quick lunch. We happened upon cafe Matisse a French inspired eatery, in what appeared to be a narrow slightly run down street. What a delightful surprise. The food was home cooked and quite...delicious. the sides were fresh and tasty. Being a rather dull and overcast day, this brought a little 'light ' in to our journey. Well done Cafe Matisse. I had the most delicious home made roast vegetable quiche with crisp salad and the nicest chips I 've had in ages. Crisp and light, obviously in good quality fresh oil. My other half opted for a homemade beef pie, gravy and chips which he said were also delicious. All in all a great surprise, I 'm glad we walked in to this tiny cafe. It 's a shame it 's so far from home or we could make this a 'regular haunt '.
Stopped in on the way to Wide Bay. Loved the lasagne and chips while my mates enjoyed the chicken burger and wedges
