The rice noodles were enjoyable, with the acidity of the lime garnish providing a nice contrast to the light sweetness. I didn't use the apron sauce that came with it because I wasn't in the mood for something sweet. I think the dish could have been enhanced with some garlic. The seafood elements included shrimp and fish cake, which were cooked well and tender. The fried fish cake was particularly delicious. The sizzling aubergine was very good, although the portion size was small. It had a complex and chewy texture, with flavors that I couldn't quite pinpoint - maybe it was seasoned with star anise. The dish was beautifully presented with sautéed strips of aubergine. I would definitely order this dish again.
I don't usually go to Huong because it is more expensive than other places on Kingsland Road, and they don't allow BYO. However, I must admit that it is a much nicer establishment than most places on Kingsland Road, thanks to its luxurious interior, pleasant lighting, and overall ambiance. Tonight, I decided to stop by the Shoreditch Triangle for a quick meal, as it was conveniently located. I ordered the fried rice noodles with mixed seafood and the spicy aubergine.
