Contribuisci feedbackCalls itself a bar, kitchen, but customers can 't order at the par and have a discretionary 12.5% service charge. That is not a bar. No are conditioning available, despite it being a hot day and clearly having air conditioning units. No gluten free beer, which is unacceptable in 2023 London (especially Hackey).
Poorly presented margaritas (salt all over the glass rather than on the rim). Thin, unimaginative, overpriced, menu that doesn't favour non-meat-eaters and hasn't changed in many years. Some staff officious and unfriendly (though others are pleasant). So it's tolerable for al fresco drinking on a sunny afternoon as it has the best position on Broadway Market, but otherwise no. I wish owners/management would notice the poor reviews and up their game as it's a waste and a shame
They seem OK up until you start asking about the Menu, I have had another experience here before, decided to overlook and and give another chance when I asked how our coffee's were doing , I was told they were very busy. quarter of an hour later, asked about breakfast only to find that the order hadn't been put in. Just gave up at this point ,very grabbing.
I have visited this cafe multiple times, but unfortunately, every time I have received extremely rude service, very slow service, and food that is below average. The last time I went with a friend and our babies, the waitresses made it clear that we were not welcome, even though the cafe was more than half empty and it was raining outside. We felt so unwelcome that we left before even ordering. I will never spend my money at this place again and I recommend that travelers look for a different restaurant in Hackney.
My daughter took me to this restaurant for brunch on a clear, sunny winter day. The outside and inside of the restaurant were simple with no fancy decorations, just comfortable canteen furniture and large windows. The atmosphere was quiet and relaxed, perfect for a good conversation. The staff were friendly and quick. The menu had all my favorite dishes: freshly squeezed orange juice, eggs Benedict, full English breakfast, and a selection of teas and coffees. We both ordered the full English breakfast and it was delicious. The food came out in just 10 minutes and everything was cooked perfectly. The scrambled eggs, mushrooms, grilled tomatoes, sausage, toast, bacon, baked beans, and hash brown were all just like how you would make them at home. The cappuccino was smooth and the orange juice was perfectly balanced between acidity and sweetness. We left the restaurant very happy and satisfied, then took a leisurely walk down the Regent's Canal to Limehouse. It was a perfect morning. I highly recommend this place.
