Food was greasy, smelled bad and tasted even worse. Went straight in the bin had 3 different people and we all thought the same. Packaging was poor to say the least food was all squished when it came. Left terrible smell in the house. Too bad there's no money back guarantee.
As a Mexican, I can tell you this place is for one, not authentic and two, not worth the £7 for the tacos or quesadillas. I was craving Al Pastor tacos and a friend suggested this place after reading the 3 raving reviews (buddies? . We headed out to Shoreditch to give them a go and sadly, we were all HIGHLY disappointed. I ordered the al pastor tacos, only to be told that they didn't have any. I pointed them out on their menu and was then told that they DO NOT marinade the pork meat but rather grill it and serve as al pastor... seriously? We ended up ordering their carne asada. Purple tortillas were sweet and turned hard with the slightest breeze and the meat was WAY over cooked. I am talking rubber band chewy overcooked. Their quesadillas turned rock hard after a few minutes and garnishing (limes, chopped onions, cilantro, salsas, etc. were left to your imagination (or had to beg for some . Their small side servings of beans with blobs of tomatoes and Mexican potato puree (seriously? are the ones we tried and went straight to the bin. They had no guacamole even though it was listed on the menu. We saw they had avocados but simply couldn't be bothered to whip some up. 90+ of the so called Mexican restaurants in London are more Tex-Mex/Cali based than authentic Mexican. There are a couple of places worth a visit such as a stall that sets up every Saturday at Duke of York Square (Sloan Square or the popular Mestizo which has taco nights every Thursday evening.
These are the best tacos and quesadillas I've had in London! And I've been living here for 3 months, trust me hahaha. The flavour is amazing, I am mexican, and this is the closest I've felt of Mexico since I came here. The owner is very cool as well, and you can have a nice chat with him :
I'm from the U.S. and my partner and I have suffered from a dearth of quality Mexican cuisine here in London. No más. Tacotitlan is spectacular, and the proprietor, Pablo, is an excellent dude.
