Mare Monte - Haddonfield

We loved everything! We had the Octopus salad, calamari and Burrata Arugula (special) salad as appetizers. For entrees we devoured the Mushroom Ravioli with crab, Gorgonzola Gnocchi, Short Rib Pasta and Veal Saltimbocca. For dessert we had the Affogato, Chocolate Budino and Creme Brulee. BYOB. Came here hoping for the best and I don't know if it was just an off night but it was a bad experience. I had the Risotto Monte and it was a very shallow dish and for the price point, simply not worth it and it was overly salty and not very attractive looking. We got a tuna app and calamari app. The calamari was chewy, not served with anything but spiceless marinara and it tasted fishy. My husband and son enjoyed the tuna app. My son had the chicken picatta and it was a ridiculous portion, again, for the price. He said he wished he didn't order it. My husband had the Branzino which he did enjoy and finish hence the two stars. We waited for the check, eventually had to ask another worker to get the check. The waiter was pretty much absent and made us feel like an after thought. It was 7:30pm on a Saturday with quite a few open tables. No idea why we couldn't be a priority but we won't be back.

We had a great time on a Saturday night. Place is larger than you would think but it was totally full by the time we left. Veal was really good and so was the gnocchi. BYOB

The best Italian restaurant I have ever had the pleasure of dining in. The food was absolutely delicious and so beautifully presented. The service was absolutely fantastic. Very inviting, genuine, and knowledgeable. The music was so perfect to relax and enjoy our meal to. This is how dining should be done! We've dined at Mare Monte twice now, and can confidently say that we will keep returning. On our first visit, we shared the risotto Mare Monte, veal funghi, and gnocchi vodka. All outstanding dishes, but the risotto stood out the most. On our second visit, we had the risotto, veal Mare Monte, the salmon, and octopus. The octopus is by far one of the most unique and freshest preparations. We are continually impressed with this establishment. It is BYOB, so we enjoyed our favorite wine with a fantastic meal and fantastic service.
