Ko-Doraku - Halifax

This is an excellent place for the freshest sushi served with warm rice. Your order is made and delivered to you immediately. You will have a hard time finding better sushi in Halifax.

Everything we ordered was fresh and delicious. The spicy salmon was incredible - with depth to its spicy sauce! Sweet potato tempura and fresh scallops were a hit for our table. I've never seen our three year old inhale sushi at the rate she did tonight! Don't let the basement location fool you, the space is bright, colourful and welcoming. The service was friendly, polite and professional. I wish we lived closer!

I was in Japan for 5 yrs. Folks, this restaurant is the real deal. The believe is that the rice makes or breaks sushi. Ko-Do's rice preparation and texture is perfection. The owner/chef and staff, who are Japanese, are so welcoming you feel at home. They have a beautiful Japanese dining area and have alcohol available including Sake. Simply the best.

I never even heard of Ko-Doraku until I started working in the business tower next to it. It is the best sushi in Halifax, hands down. I have only been to the 1949 Upper Water St. location, but the staff are so friendly and genuine that it makes the experience that much better. It is also cheep too! The Kodoraku roll, the Yoga roll and the Chicken Udon are my favourite! Everyone in my office loves going here for lunch!

I thought it was reasonably priced but was disappointed with the imitation crab on the California roll. The service was fast for lunch time on a Tuesday. GF soy sauce available upon request.
