Finished dinner around. 9:30pm. Took a stroll at the seaside. By the time went back to the hotel around 10:45pm, my daughter who ate the lobster roll, started to feel sick and was vomiting for more than two hours along with stomach upset and abdominal pain. We called the restaurant next day and was trying to contact the manager. We were put through to the manager's voice mail. We left a message regarding the incident. We further left a message through their website. We left them with our contact email. So far as of today August 13, we haven't heard anything back from the restaurant how they would follow up with the incident. Did they look into the food handling procedures or did they dispose the lobster roll ingredients etc? No response. We also reported the incident to Health Canada. I posted a question here yesterday asking if anyone ever have had any food poisoning experience with this restaurant before. I received a few answers from the community stating that they had good food and experience with the restaurant (none of them ordered lobster rolls). To be fair, I would say they have good services and average food quality but one food poisoning experience is all I have with one visit and that's 100% unpleasant experience. Hope everyone stays healthy after dining at their restaurant.
Had lunch at Murphy's on Tuesday August 1st on the patio our server Carley was great, utensils, napkins, kids menus, crayons our drinks all on the table in first few minutes. The kids ordered pasta from the kids menu, my wife the fish and chips and me the 2lb Lobster for $69.00. The kids enjoyed the pasta but $10.00 each seemed a bit steep for a bowl of pasta. The $15.00 fish & chips were a good portion but just OK. The lobster was good and precracked but on tiny portions of coleslaw, potato salad and a 1/3 of a corn on the cob. The service was good as was the lobster so I over looked the pricing and enjoyed our meal. Returned on Thursday August 2nd this time six of us and should have asked for Carley again. Our server brought menus took our drink order and before leaving I asked her for crayons for the kids, 10 minutes latter no crayons and no drink. Sister inlaw got up and got them, called server over after being ignored and asked for our drinks, she said they were at the bar I asked her to go get them. Took our orders and left, 15 minutes latter food comes out with her and another server, we have no utensils, napkins, she brings a few knives and forks but no spoons for three bowls of chowder. I ask other server for spoons she says she will tell our server, I tell her our server is brutal and we need spoons. Few minutes latter our server shows up with spoons. This time the services magnified the high prices and small portions. I was not happy with the entire lunch and for the first time in my life I left no tip. I doubt I will ever go back.
Stopped by for lunch and had the fish and chips. Pretty good. Service was slow, but they had just finished serving two groups. We were out on the covered patio which was nice, except for the pigeons who flew in. Overall it was an average meal with great scenery.
Cruise ship day. Very busy. Food good. Service ok. Lobster and mussels were great. Place needs a good scrubbing tables sticky
Went spent a few hours there, enoying afternoon beverages. Well staffed. Had the scallop app's, which were awesome.
