The pizza is not bad. Ordered a chicken sandwich with a tiny piece of chicken on it. Would only go back if I had no choice. Creme brulee was thick with very little flavor. Expensive for what we were given.
We made the long drive to The Crow 's Nest last night for their Friday Perch on the Porch buffet. It was well worth the drive! Everything was delicious, the pan fried perch to order, BBQ ribs, and salads were all terrific. It 's a small, unique restaurant with a wood burning fireplace. The food, service, drinks and atmosphere were all great. Our server Shana was theee best. They 're only open Friday Saturday evenings in the winter, so reservations are a good idea.
Since our last visit to this family restaurant, set in the countryside 20-30 minutes from Harbor Springs, the owners have had to cut back significantly on open hours because of difficulty in hiring staff. For now the Crow's Nest is open only on Fridays, and I recommend you make a reservation either by email or by leaving a message on the phone answering machine. Both the food and the wait staff remain excellent. The owners have innovated by offering perch, all you can eat, prepared on the porch and served buffet style. The perch and all the other food items are delicious.
Crows Nest is a favorite spot of ours and a must visit when in northern Michigan! Service is terrific, food is amazing. Great wine list fun bar area. Family owned run which yes makes a difference it shows!
