However, the desserts were fantastic! The textures were great and I appreciated the variety of options. The atmosphere is average, mainly due to the car park, but overall it was a great dining experience.
Smart gastropub, offers a range of food options. We had the tasting menu, delicious! A real hidden jewel!
I recently enjoyed a lovely evening at the White Swan without any children. We tried the tasting menu along with a wonderful bottle of Bollinger. My wife was a bit apprehensive at first, not being a fan of foie gras and black pudding, but we ended up loving all of the courses - especially the lamb. It was a great, relaxed evening and we will definitely be returning. The service was excellent, with a very attentive waitress who helped make our night special. They even had sleeping suits available for our daughter.
We visited the white swan for the first time to celebrate our wedding anniversary and wanted something special so went for the tasting menu. We were really happy with the quality of the food and service we received. We had a minor dietary requirement that...needed some menu amendments and these were checked and doubled checked with us and we had no issues at all. The food was delicious although one or two menu items went to our personal taste it was clear the dishes were excellent quality and a great way to try a few things we wouldn't normally choose. That being said we both agreed that we each ate some of the best dishes we had ever tasted, including their take on English breakfast and the salmon chefs suprise substitute, which really blew us away. Our only comment would be the dishes came out quite quickly after one and another and there wasn't much time to digest the previous course, however we didn't feel rushed at all, just would have like the experience to go on for a little longer! We will certainly visit again!
We decided to try the new Friday/Saturday set price lunch menu, we’re so glad we did. Amazing food, incredibly good value at £17.50 for 2 courses great service. Every mouthful of the game pie was an explosion of taste, and the king prawn...linguini had a lovely, light, lemony flavour. Topped off with the rhubarb crumble, our meal was perfection. We now have a new go-to restaurant.
