We were travelling to Cambridge and needed somewhere to stop along the way. It was great to have a few different options to choose from. We ordered the mushroom and ale pie, burger, and cheesecake. The portion sizes were good and the service was quick.
The menu primarily features meat dishes, but there are a couple of vegan options available such as a burger and mushroom pie, as well as a vegetarian option in the form of risotto. For my meal, I enjoyed the harissa skewers for starters which were delicious, followed by the mushroom pie that had a generous amount of pastry. The pie filling was tasty and the chips were also great. Owned by Greene King, the pub's real ale selection can sometimes be limited, but on the night of our visit they had Black Sheep available. However, a minor issue arose when my wife, who has a peanut allergy, had to sign a waiver on an iPad indicating that she was aware of the risk of exposure. This made us feel less welcome and as though her allergy was more of a burden to accommodate rather than being taken seriously. Despite this, the meal was enjoyable overall.
Came here because my usual bike ride café stop was closed. It doesn't mention anything about having soya milk on their website but thankfully they do so I had a cup of tea. The vegan chocolate raspberry torte was really nice. Service was quick, people friendly and a nice cosy atmosphere inside.
Good vegan menu, my personal fave is the fish-less fish and chips very tasty, friendly staff and cosy atmosphere
