The hotel is something from the 80's. The hotel is very old and so is the furniture. However it was clean. They also had free wifi which surprised me! I never ate at the restaurant but it never interested since the hotel was old and needed a lot of work. It was also very loud since we had the room above the bar.
The hotel restaurant was reasonably priced and had a good, healthy chef salad. The staff were also very friendly.
Just returned from eating one of the most tasteless meals I have ever eaten. We arrived there at about 6 PM, there was one other couple in the restaurant, we were greeted by a fosty smell as we entered the hotel that contain the restaurant. Not being greeted by anyone, we stood around for a while, and took a seat waiting for someone to enter the dining room. We placed out order which included several appetizers and two main coarse. The onion rings arrived first, tasted burnt, followed by the mussels, they were perfect, steamed with garlic butter on the side. The mussels turned out to be the best part of the meal. Next came the seafood chowder, while thick, it was rather tasteless. I don't think the cook know what spices are, not even salt. This was followed by the main coarse, I had the Roast Beef Dinner, again it was bland, it was served with dressing, mash potato, vegetables and contained several tough pieces of roast beef covered in gravy. My dining partner had the T-Bone, it was presented medium as ordered, but he also indicated it was rather bland as were the side dishes. The portions were above average, especially for the seafood chowder and the prices were reasonable. The best part of the visit were reading the place mates, there were several different ones that contained the history of the town, they are printed on both sides, so don't forget to read the back side as well.
