I have visited the Doll's House a few times for coffee/tea and it's been okay. However, my last visit was disappointing. I ordered a coffee and a kid's hot chocolate, but was not given a kids menu. When I asked if they could make the luxury hot chocolate in a kids size, the server said yes, but charged me £5.50 for it, without mentioning an extra charge for an Oreo biscuit. After questioning the charges, the owner became unnecessarily aggressive and insisted on the additional charge. It was only after another worker showed me the kids menu that we realized I had been overcharged by 50p and that the prices were unclear and made up on the spot. Due to this dishonest behavior, I will not be returning to this establishment. Pricing transparency and accountability are essential in a customer-focused business.
A cute and quirky little place with an old world charm. It was one of those sunny November mornings when it was possible to sit on one of the few outdoor tables. This was fortunate as the small indoor seating areas (both at ground level and downstairs) were very congested, Not entirely sure the seating arrangements work in such a limited space. A further reservation is that, although the interior seems clean, there is a very pervasive odour of fried food. Perhaps better extraction and venting might be a good idea. Sitting outside is pleasant, however, as one can enjoy the views of the Harrow School on a bustling Sunday morning. It was nice to be served at our table rather than ordering inside, and our coffees were decent and not too costly. We did not eat on this occasion but took a look at the menu for reference. The food appears rather overpriced, but this is not surprising for the area served.
Absolutely terrible, cake was crumbly and fell apart, manager said it was moist, it certainly was not moist or fresh. Husband had a scone which crumbled and was inedible also not fresh. Cake counter looked dirty. Manager couldn't of cared less. Only gave one star as I couldn't leave a review without one.
Recommended to us as we were going to watch our son play rugby at Harrow. Loved the quirky little traditional tea shop style cafe. Extensive menu and good food. Service great and nice atmosphere felt like we were in a different time period.
