The deep-fried squid is mostly batter and the prawn toast is essentially just plain toast. We used to be loyal customers for 15 years, but the last 5 visits have been disappointing. The new owner seems to prioritize cutting costs over maintaining quality and quantity. It's upsetting because the original owner, who was the father, was known for excellent service and generous portions. Additionally, they no longer serve sizzlers.
The lunch special menu, which is cash only, offers great value with friendly and fast service. All dishes are made to order and served promptly, always piping hot. I especially recommend trying the Chef's hot and sour soup. There is a pay and display car park just 50 meters away, costing 50p or free for Blue Badge holders.
We visited this restaurant for the first time based on a recommendation from a friend. Unfortunately, we did not enjoy the Chicken Szechuan or Mixed Veg Szechuan dishes. The price of £19 with fried rice felt overpriced. We appreciated the complimentary prawn crackers, but we do not plan to order from here again.
12 of us ate here last night. One of our group is severely gluten intolerant. We told the restaurant in advance and they catered brilliantly for us all. Had a range of starters and mains to share all delicious and piping hot. Staff efficient and pleasant. Will certainly be back.
Chicken Szechuan and King prawn chow mein inedible and tasteless. Fried rice OK. Too poor to serve to customers and at £19.
