Sir Robert Stanford Estate - Hermanus

A happy find, we just saw and stopped the sign on the way out of town. And thank God! Buttery 2015 Chenin Blanc 2016 Rose (100% Shiraz) a must try!! Her Grappa distillery is also fantastic and a must to visit... she restaurant looks very family-friendly with many ducks and geese all over the place. One of the best wine farms we visited in the western Cape

Immersed for a schnapps and liquer tasting. Tasting room is well located on the property overlooking a dam with magnificent views of the village Stanford. Service is very friendly and attentive. We chose a tasting that is finished with a handcrafted espresso coffee. The geese also came by to welcome us a great welcome. If you are looking for a relaxed afternoon after lunch, this will certainly meet your requirements.

What a beautiful place to visit. Everything about friendly staff, great food, great wine, wonderful atmosphere and much to do in this little jewel. Take your friends, take your family, take anyone who appreciates nature and if you have a well-being dog, bring them all... Dogs are not really welcome except when kept on a leash and does not bark on all small ducks swimming around. We absolutely loved this place. And highly recommend it to all as a must see!!!

What a rare find!! We were so fascinated by the beautiful but sad story about the history of this great man. He needs more honor than what is given to him. The wines are stunning and the only Chenin blanc found in this region. The fireplace went and we were blessed to have a lady who is the accountant of this farm, but for a friend who was sick. Please spend time here and enjoy beautiful wines
