Crafty Minds Brews Bites

I went to Crafty Minds three days in a row for the Hermosa Festival. They were busy and short staffed, but making do. There were no workers standing around talking; everyone was hoppin'! They had an easy drinking Double IPA that was a little too tame in IBUs and alcohol percentage, but good on a nice, hot day. They also had a pineapple cider that my friend really enjoyed! There was also a live band and lots of folks singing along. The live band was a nice touch! We had a good time...all 3 days! I look forward to going back.

Best word to describe this place..... Interesting. We came in as a group of 10 the weekend of the Hermosa Festival. This place is in a prime spot, and their outdoor area looked nice from what I could see. The indoors needs some work. We were the only customers in the place. The juke box didn 't work, the menu was written on a white board that we passed around the table. Derives was 'ok ' but we all got our meals delivered to our tables separately. Their establishment could use some work lol.

Soft open after the pandemic and the entire staff was helpful, friendly, inviting and kind. New outside dinning is perfect for families and friends to gather to enjoy the weather, drinks and food.

Okay so from the outside this place has a cool little patio area and it's located right on the beach, but they really need to work on their service. We came here on a Saturday at lunch time and the place was pretty much empty. They had a live singer playing which was really cool, but besides us there was only one other table with people and they were finishing up their meal. After getting seated the guy says he'll take our drink orders while we look at the menu, so we order our drinks and he disappears for a really long time. We're really hungry and we're anxious to put our food order in, but we have to wait like 10-15 minutes for him to come back. Keep in mind the entire restaurant is empty and we weren't ordering fancy cocktails, just beers on tap. At least he's friendly at least so I can't be too mad. But then he comes back with two out of three beers and we place our food order. My friend mentions she didn't get her drink yet and he says it's coming right up and he's gone again for another 10-15 minutes. Like I said, the restaurant is empty so he's not out helping other tables, he's just gone in the back somewhere. Then he finally comes back and tells my friend that they're out of the beer she ordered. We're patient people, but a little confused why he didn't notice the first time he came out that they're out of that beer, and why it took him over 10 minutes the second time to come back and say they're out. Then he's gone again for a really long time, and our food finally comes out after an excruciatingly long wait. From the time we ordered to when we get our food it's literally almost an hour. Given that we were all very hungry this made the wait feel even longer. Now, I always like to give businesses the benefit of the doubt. Maybe a chef called in sick, maybe they're busy. But at the time we were there there was literally nobody else there besides one other table which had already gotten their food. And we weren't there at some odd hour, we were there around 11:30am, a normal time for lunch. At one point another table came in, but that was probably 20-30 minutes after we had already ordered. But even if you ignore the time spent waiting for food, I still don't know why it took so long to get our drinks and why it took 10 minutes for him to come back and tell my friend they're out of the beer she ordered. I give it three stars because the live music was cool and the patio design was well done. Also, the craft beers they have on tap were good. The service (though lackadaisical and nonchalant) was friendly at least and the food was decent I think, but I'm not sure if the food was really that good or just because I was so hungry that anything would have tasted good. I really want to like this place but they really need to work on their service. I feel like the location is great and the decor is great but I can see why it was so empty even when everywhere else in the area was packed.

Purchased from this place through PostMates. They some how got it under Ra Ra Ramen I bought Spicy Chicken Miso Ramen the picture that was advertised was nothing like what we received. Our plate did not come anything other than four jalapeño slices . A cup noodles would of been 1000 times better. Super disappointed with this place and it 's false advertising.
