The staff was friendly and prompt. Many local people seem to dine here and there was a lot of visit between tables. Decor was bold, with many statuettes, pictures, tea channels and feathered friends to span. Coffee was hot and service was good, everything came as ordered. The prices were great for the very filling meals. I had the chicken fried steak with the choice of potato, biscuit or toast and eggs (each style. My mom had the Mexican omelette and hash brown with onion. The chicken fried steak was tender and had a nice splinter for bread. The cookies were light, fluffy and huge. Sausage Gravy had a big piece of sausage and was tasteful. Mom finished her breakfast and finished my cookies and the last bites of the CFS. After our meal we had a nice visit with a table of local diners who asked us about our meal and if we were back. (Yes! In any case, the trip is worth visiting this lively and fun Hometown Diner.
I sit here after reading the reviews on the chicken and not even a big fan of chicken and tasting heaven and the engraving is really the best I ever had perfect season. I cannot believe that chickens can taste this good so juicy and no salt or pepper required. I usually add hot sauce to my chicken, but today for the first time I do nothing but the Gravy
Stop from this beautiful little mother and pop place. Delicious roasted chicken. Very clean and the service is great. Seems like a popular place for locals, as there is a little crowded
So many times drove busy, finally stopped and waited for a table. The best decision we made in a long time! The staff was so sweet and accommodating for all and good food, AMAZING!!!!!!! New favorite spot I recommend is more of a wait, but I must give this place the praise it deserves.... Well done Chicken King well done!!
Lunchtime can be very busy, so if don 't have any patience, don 't visit. However, if you are patient, the wait is worth it! Good comfort food at decent prices (considering the present economic situation/inflation, etc. ! The chicken dumplings lunch special was REALLY close to my late grandmother 's recipe... Thanks for taking me down the nostalgic memory lane !
