Durans is more of a cafe than a restaurant but has a wide menu serving breakfast, sandwiches, baguettes and toasties as well as some larger dishes such as burgers, steaks and chops, jacket potatoes and fish. Popped in for breakfast and ordered eggs benedict with smoked salmon and poached eggs with avocado on toast. The eggs benedict came on normal toast which is unusual but tasted good and the smoked salmon was fresh. The avocado with the poached eggs came sliced on the side rather than mashed, again unusual but tasty the eggs had been poached in standard poacher and were slightly overcooked. Its a small cafe and so service was quick and friendly and we didn't wait too long for our food. Overall, its good value for what you get and as said in the title its no frills food but is good quality.
Lovely little café in Bushey village. Great staff quick service. Extensive menu including huge portions of all day breakfasts. Food always piping hot
Came here for breakfast this week with a friend and was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food. My friend and I both had variations of Eggs Benedict (two perfectly poached eggs on toast with silky smooth, perfect hollandaise sauce) – hers with a good sized portion of asparagus and spinach and a whole perfectly ripe avocado – mine with a portion of good quality smoked salmon, a whole deliciously creamy avocado and a sliced tomato. The tea and coffee were also good and the service polite, friendly and efficient. Can’t believe I’ve lived around the corner for over 7 years and never come here! I will definitely be back
Just had an insipid cup of tea (low grade tea bag) and bought-in frozen chips fried-to-order. Nothing noteworthy about Duran's Bistro-Grill except that they overcharged me by 50 pence and tried to bamboozle me by saying the chips were more expensive if ordered without other items from the breakfast menu. There is no written notification of this piffle on the menu and/or elsewhere on the premises. They only returned the filched 50 pence once I said I would report the matter to a local authority trading standards office. They refused my request to give me a receipt. OAPS and others should watch out for trickery of this kind.
