Cilantro - Hexham

We made a reservation at this restaurant for a meal during our weekend getaway. We opted for the tapas-style dishes, which feature either small curry servings or a fusion of Mexican and Indian cuisine. I know it sounds a bit unusual, but we found them to be delicious and a refreshing alternative to the usual Indian pakoras. Meanwhile, some other diners chose full-sized curries and received generous portions that proved to be quite a challenge to finish. The service was fantastic, with the entire team being exceptionally friendly.

The dining experience was great! I really enjoyed the concept of exploring different foods and meals. The service was excellent; the staff was friendly and very accommodating. If I ever find myself back in Hexham, I would definitely consider returning, as the other dishes on the menu seemed worth trying!

This was the best dining experience we’ve had in a long time. Both the food and service were excellent. The menu offered a wide variety of delicious options, and almost everything can be made vegan. We found ourselves drawn to traditional Indian dishes rather than a fusion with Latin American cuisine. We particularly enjoyed the spicy vegetables, Madras, Pathia, spicy okra, Chana Bhuna, rice, and chapati—all incredibly delicious. The flavors were fresh and spicy, and the presentation was excellent. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, showing genuine interest in our choices regarding vegan options and beer. It was so comforting to have attentive and helpful service. We will definitely return whenever we’re nearby; we only wish we lived closer!

Absolutely stunning. sublime food, very tasty Indian tapas with a bit twist. we ordered 3 tapas pro plus some pages. the portions are plentiful that we had to take home. that food lets you live. very well ran helpful staff. beautiful atmosphere. highly recommended!

Fantastic food generous portions even in tapas format we had a lovely evening at Cilantro this week while we were visiting the area friendly customer service too we will certainly visit again on our next visit to the area
