Village Inn Pizza Parlor - Hickory

I wanted this place to be the Pizza Planet, but it's in a church. I wanted the Pizza to be good but instead, we ate Cardboard with dollar tree tomato sauce. Service was to prompt, every plate we got they were didn't allow us to feel the fat kid feeling. No one goes to a buffet to feel skinny, and when you take away our plates we don't get to admire our bad choices. Also, the church theme only makes me pray to never come here again and eat there Sam's club salad bar.

Be cautious when checking the menu for this restaurant. I went in expecting to pay $7 or $8 for the buffet, but my daughter and I ended up spending $29 for lunch! I wasn't impressed with the pizza or spaghetti, but the soup and salad were quite good.

This restaurant has really declined since the new management took over. The buffet is always the same and the food is never hot. The options are very limited. There were even two flies buzzing around the salad bar. Many items are missing from the salad bar, such as baby corn, chocolate pudding, and banana pudding. Dessert pizzas are rarely available. The walls and carpet are dirty, and the bathroom resembles something from an old service station—it's disgusting. We have made our decision to not return.

Once again, they messed up my order. They did offer a free pizza this time, but this is the third time I've ordered takeout and something has gone wrong. I specifically asked for extra pepperoni, but looking at the picture, you can see there’s hardly any pepperoni—just a lot of extra onions and peppers instead.

Update: 8/26. 4:30pm. Looks like they hired a few new young men. One making pizza one cleaning the dining room. Pizza was hot bar was full. Dining room was very clean. Also woman at the register was very sweet. Unlike the last time we were here. I'm very pleasantly surprised.!
