My partner and I had a great dinner at Red Pepper. They have plenty of gluten free options on the menu including the Cullen Skink soup and gluten free battered fish and chips! For starters we had the Cullen skink, warm goats cheese salad (both gluten free) and my partner also had the haggis (not gluten free). For main I had the gluten free fish and chips and my partner had the normal fish and chips. All dishes were tasty and fresh and the service was great as well!
We where staying overnight in a B&B and it was the land lady who recommended the Red pepper, the food was outstanding garlic mushrooms to die for and the steak was cooked to perfection, it is a bit on the pricy side but well worth the birthday treat for my wife service spot on fully recommend
After enquiring about dinner, we were told there were no tables available. One of the staff came over and told us there was a table available after all, only for the bar manageress to say under her breath that she wasn't doing walk ins. We felt as welcome as the plague, and left very disappointed by her manner and the way we were treated...
We reserved a table at this restaurant after reading all the great reviews but I have to say we found the food to be average at best. I had the chicken breast with stuffed haggis which was overcooked and very dry. My partner was also very disappointed with her lemon sole. The restaurant is fairly small and seemed to lack any atmosphere although it was full. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive but overall we were very disappointed with our mains and decided against having any desserts.
