V.i.p. Lounge - Highland

This isn't a good bar at all. I didn't enjoy my time there and I have no intention of going back. It's hard to understand why anyone would keep this place, which feels like a hole in the wall, in business.

I really liked it! I visited this place on a Saturday night with my uncle Louis. It's a nice spot, somewhat hidden on 45th, so keep an eye out for it. Here’s the gist: It’s bigger than I expected...

We visited to enjoy a performance by the band Nawty. The drink and bar food prices were quite reasonable. Just a heads up, smoking is permitted, so keep that in mind.

The bar had two very hardworking bartenders, and I think there was only one person serving tables. The size of the crowd might have caught her off guard because they could have used some extra help. There was a live band playing, and while there was a $5 cover charge, the music wasn’t great. However, they do have a good setup for the band with solid sound and lighting, along with a small dance floor to enjoy. They offer food, but we didn’t have a chance to try any. The drinks were good and reasonably priced. It's also a good spot to catch games since they have plenty of televisions. Overall, it’s a nice local bar with an older crowd, and everyone seemed to have a fantastic time. It’s conveniently located, so I’ll definitely be back!

Fantastic bartender (Jane Karen), lovely ladies' room, and excellent owners (Lisa and Dave)! The smoke control is impressive as well. I really love this bar!
