However, I found the menu a bit unclear. The two meals, four sides, and two drinks totaled $60.50, which was a bit more than I anticipated, but the food was so good, and the place was very clean. I still recommend it as a nice spot!
Me and my family tried this place while on vacation and really enjoyed it. The food was a tad pricey but the amount they give you is well worth the cost. It was some of the best bbq we have had in a long time. Brisket, pulled and chopped pork, ribs and chicken were all tried. Very good. The staff was also very kind and helpful with things needed.
Ended up here after our original destination was unexpectedly closed (lucky us! So glad we decided to try it! The ribs, brisket, and chopped pork were tender and tasty. The macaroni and cheese was amazing- you'd thought your granny had made it! The fried okra was well seasoned and perfectly cooked. The salad wasn't your typical flavorless iceburg lettuce with a tomato tossed on top- it was a real salad made of spring mix lettuces with tomatoes, cucumbers, carrots and radishes. I didn't care much for the homemade 1000 Island dressing, but it wasn't terrible, just not my style. The service was fast and friendly in a relaxed atmosphere. Next time we visit NC we will definitely be stopping by here...might even make a special trip just for it! And as an added bonus, the take-out box for our left overs was made from recyclable paperboard/cardboard, so that really made me happy! *Outdoor seating available. Parking in back- must go up steep stairs (handicap/wheelchair access not noted . Traffic is one-directional in (to left of building and out (to right of building . Dine-in, take-out, and order online. No delivery.
We've been to the Highland Smokehouse several times over the years. It's about 1.5 hours from the house, reached by taking some beautiful roads. They've changed owners or management a few times, but it's alway worth the trip. The burnt ends appetizer was recommended by an acquaintance, and they were spot on. Forgot to take a picture before diving in, but that's how good it is.
After going on a nice drive through the smokey mountains we came across this place nestled in the side of the hill i had the 3 meat platter with Brussel sprouts and collard greens the people i was with said there food was excellent also. Can't say enough good about this place ! It was excellent. The staff was friendly the food was wonderful and a nice view while dining outside you can dine inside if you want also. This place has to be the best kept secret in North Carolina . I truly hope to visit again in the spring.....to the staff nice going guys I truly enjoy my visit to your establishment......
