A fine addition to the fine food in Highlands from the people who bring Primary Steakhouse in the former merit office. attentive service from our server DJ, good drinks from the bartenders and a good, fair wine list. Large selection of dishes on the menu. Very recommended. (Note that older reviews for the previous restaurant are in this location.
Ken, our server, was super friendly and attentive. We loved the Ahi Tuna Tower in any case that if you like some fresh delicious stuff. The maize bread is the size of a cast iron fucket and delicious. Very recommended!
Very cool. We expected more of a diving bar, but it's really nice inside. The cocktails were great. Very good old-fashioned.
On Saturday night of the July 4th weekend we failed to plan ahead. I haven't been to Highlands in a couple years but fortuitously parked in front of Primary. I admitted my error and appealed to there kindness. Luckily one spot was available for our party of five. The hostesses were all friendly and happy to have us join them. Ken was our waiter and was exceptional from beginning to end. He was knowledgeable about the menu and answered all our questions efficiently. He was helpful with suggestions and accommodating to our special request. He was there often enough to stay on top of things but gave us peace to enjoy our meals. Ken was a big part of this review being 5 stars. Food was fabulous. Pa had a wedge salad that looked wonderful and was a generous tasty portion. Gan enjoyed fine wine and the tuna sandwich sans bun. A perfect portion of tasty tuna and fixings. Mom enjoyed a precisely prepared salmon with wild rice and green beans. Seasoning in all parts of her plate was spot on. Zach had the tuna entrée. He was very pleased with his rare tuna and tasty mashed potatoes. I enjoyed the special the country fried tenderloin with mashed potatoes and cream gravy accompanied by a roasted corn. The corn was spectacularly prepared with a hint of smoke, perfect seasonings and candied bacon. Mashed potatoes were excellent and worked well with the plate. Fancy restaurant knocked chicken fried steak out of the park. Steak was cooked just right with an optimal coating of crispy batter. Gravy that would make Granny proud crowned this plate fit for a king. We had carrot cake and chocolate cake for dessert. Ken brought out just what he described. Two monsterous slices of cake. The five of us aggreed both cakes were delicious. It was more than we could finish and we brought some home. The drink menu had an ample selection of wines, beers and cocktails. We enjoyed some of each. More than one person came by to ensure we had all we needed and were satisfied with what we had. We had all we needed and were pleased with all we had. The place is visually stunning and a welcoming place to enjoy good food served by good people. We'll be making a reservation to return soon. Come get you some.
