Tokyo Express - Hillsborough

I have been coming here for years!! And they have never disappointed !! Food is amazing!

The food was phenomenal! The portions were HUGE which was great! The overall atmosphere of the restaurant was quiet and very plain though. The prices were very high compared to what we typically pay. We paid 48 dollars for 2 plates and 2 drinks but the fact that the food was great and plentiful made up for the high prices in my opinion.

Just recently on 6-21-24 for lunch, my wife called in a take out order and I went in to pick it up. I went in and paid for the order and the lady at the register said the order was still on the grill cooking. So, I sat down and waited and waited and waited. Several minutes went by and I got up to see why it was taking so long? It turns out my food had been sitting behind the counter while the employees were just standing around up front talking. It wasn't really busy either, just a few people inside. I've been there before and have never had this kind of problem with the service. They normally bring the food out to me in the dining area as soon as it's ready, instead of just leaving it behind the counter. I asked the lady how long it had been sitting behind the counter and she never even answered my question. I don't believe I'll be back to this place again. The service has really gone down hill.

Excellent food. Fast service. Wish they didn't use Styrofoam when eating there!

Very clean and delicious! Sometimes Japanese express joints are hit or miss, but this one is a HIT!!
