Contribuisci feedbackThis place has AMAZING gluten free okonomiyaki!!! It's seriously the best thing I've eaten in Japan. The husband and wife owners are SUPER nice too. He explained to me exactly what the ingredients are to make sure they were all ok for me to eat despite his limited English skills. They are always friendly to me and ask me questions about what I've done in Hiroshima so far despite my limited Japanese speaking. (They also have regular okonomiyaki if you want to bring other friends or family members.

Very very very good okonomiyaki! This restaurant also serves gluten free okonomiyaki, that is rare! The owner speaks good English. Have been here three times during our four days stay in Hiroshima.
Very friendly excellent service! The okonomiyaki was delicious (both the normal gluten free versions). It was a treat to be able to safely enjoy a traditional Hiroshima dish. Best part was my kids also approved!
We had the most amazing experience eating gluten free okonomyaki here (at Koguma Hiroshimayaki, 仔ぐまの広島焼き . We spent quite a while chatting and getting to know the owner using basic Japanese and Google translate. He was so nice and told us that when he was a child he had taken cold medicine and since then he has not been able to eat meat or eggs. This led him to serve an allergen free okonomyaki (Hiroshima style which inevitably led to an influx of foreigners. He said that travellers would tell him of their gluten sensitivities or celiac disease (rare in Japan and that it was difficult to find food in Japan while enjoying local cuisine. So he made gluten free Hiroshimayaki available on his menu so those with allergies can enjoy too! He uses a separate hot plate to cook the hiroshimayaki with rice noodles, cabbage, bean sprouts and pork using a gluten free based batter. He also has packets of his own original gluten free okonomyaki sauce which is very good. He gave us a few packets of his sauce to take home with us as well! It was an overall amazing and heartwarming experience getting to know Ken despite the language barrier. Besides that, the okonomyaki was absolutely delicious and authentic. The taste was extremely similar to the regular okonomyaki. I wish we were in Hiroshima longer so we could see him again! It was well worth the detour, please do not miss it if you love okonomyaki. .... レストラン仔ぐまの広島焼きでグルテンフリーのお好み焼きを食べました。私達のその素晴らしい体験を述べさせて下さいね。 片言英語とGoogleの翻訳を使いながらレストランのオーナーさんといろいろお話させてもらいました。オーナーさんはとても素敵なフランクな方で、自分自身体験した子供時代の風邪薬によって起こされた肉と卵アレルギーのお話をしてくれました。自分自身の苦しい体験により、アレルギーの方でも食べれる広島風お好み焼きを作りあげる事にに成功し、特に外人の方に注目をされてきました。オーナーさん曰く、日本ではグルテンアレルギーやセリアック病ばまだ稀だけれど 、海外から来られているグルテンアレルギーやセリアック病の人たちが日本旅行中に食べれるものを探すのことが非常に難しいと言うことを聞いたそうです。その時、オーナーさんはアレルギーの方にでも安心して楽しんでいただける広島風お好み焼きを作る決意を決めたそうです。 そこで、オーナーさんはグルテンフリー希望の方には、小麦粉を使わずに米粉でできた麺をモヤシと豚肉で炒め、米粉を使用したお好み焼きタネで焼いた広島焼きを作りあげることの成功しました。しかも、鉄板も小麦粉いりの物が決して接触していない別の鉄板で焼くほどに真剣に安全なオーナーさんならではのグルテンフリー広島焼きの誕生!お好み焼きソースもオーナーさん自家製グルテンフリーソースで、私達にお土産にと分けて下さいました。 言葉の壁を乗り越え、オーナーのケンさんと知り合う事ができ、素晴らしい心温まる経験でした。ケンさんの広島焼きのお味は純粋でまさに抜群!美味しかったぁ〜! 普通の小麦粉で焼いた広島焼とほぼ変わらないお味でした。もう少し広島に長く滞在できたら、又ケンさんに会いに来たかったです!旅行のルートから離れて広島に来た私達ですが、本当にその甲斐がありました。お好み焼きの好きな方々、広島に来られた際は是非ケンさんのレストラン仔ぐまの広島焼き に食べに来て下さいね〜。
