The dish was presented beautifully and it tasted great too. We were given complimentary Papadams on arrival which was convenient as we had to wait for a while for our meal as the place was busy. But the wait didn't disappoint us as we both loved the food on our plates.
I had takeaway lamb korma and it's one of the best I've had. Keema naan (with fruit and nuts) was beautiful. I can't say the decor inside is anything special, but the service was fine and the food was pretty amazing. I'll definitely visit again on my next trip to Hobart.
We were a party of five and two of the party were vegetarians and one was vegan. Other two like meat. So where do you go that can satisfy all of us - Maharaja of course!! The décor is a little dated and we went up some very old creaky stairs to a room upstairs but don't let that put you off. The food came out quickly (we were there on a Friday night) and it was cheap and full of flavor. All the vegetarian dishes were different in flavor and yummo!! The restaurant is byo which is always good and a cellarmasters is a stone throws away. We were staying at the Best Western so only 5 minutes walk away.
Honestly some of the best food we have ever eaten, we found this gem of a restaurant, still very happy to serve us a meal, murg mussalam was excellent and kadhai paneer with cheese naan perfect.finish with mojo shiraz bottle, very impressed.
Great meals and big serves. Probably didn't need an entrée :-) Really well priced as well. It was BYO and there are three shop right around the corner
