Great location with a view of the beach. Food was good too.
I don't really understand why people rate this place as the Best sushi place in Hobart, maybe it is (in comparison to all other sushi in Hobart), but is definitely NOT an outstanding sushi. It is just average, the size is too big, missing a lot of seasoning and not much variety. I've been to so many sushi places around the world and this place is good but not outstanding.
If I want sushi this is where I come to with a great selection to choose from. Eat in or take away. Today we ate in. I had the fresh avocado sushi roll. My partner had the box of sushi for $9.50. Also had the miso soup as a starter. Everything is freshly prepared. A healthy and satisfying lunch.
This little cafe is easy to miss, but is worth walking the extra half block to find. It's clearly very popular for sushi with lots of customers over the lunch period. We shared a fresh tuna roll which was good but it was the udon noodle soup which really impressed. A lovley light broth with suble flavour; fat, fresh udon noodles with small addtions of carrot, spring onion and inari to add a bit of colour and flavour. The green tea was freshly made and a nice addition on a cold day
