It wasn't them...It was the atmosphere and customers actually.and me not knowing the setting. The food was great, the service was amazing and I will go back for that.I do personally like Hoffman house better. More my atmosphere, live bands and waterfront scenery so you can watch the boats go by, have a firepit on the sandy beach.....but that's bc I personally like that setting. This place was not set up for a group gathering, regardless of the type of gathering...i thought bc of noise level and inside room seating so close you couldn't enjoy yourself without the other ppl who are there for a quiet romantic evening being annoyed. So if you are going on a dinner date with your love, want nice fake fire and nice fake pics of scenery..GO HERE. It will accommodate you!!!Basically I went for German food... and yes they are amazing...But choose your atmosphere wisely bc there is a huge difference.
I came here at the recommendation of a friend. The restaurant is clean, the staff are all friendly and the server was awesome. While they serve American fare, we went all in on the German food, choosing Jager Schnitzel and Weiner Schnitzel. The portions were huge and the food came out piping hot, perfectly prepared and was delicious!Make sure that you save room for dessert as the apple strudel was amazing. Reservations are highly recommended in season but we were lucky and got a table without one. This was the best German food that I have had in Florida!
We visited Tuesday 2/23 with another couple. We are all frequent guests because of the great food. This time, the food was excellent as usual, but we waited over an hour after ordering to be served. First time that's happened. Hopefully just an off night that won't be repeated. We were disappointed management didn't offer any apologies the whole time we waited, or after we finished. I will assume this restaurant is having staffing issues like many others. Perhaps they need to partition off some tables that they cannot handle in a reasonable time frame.
We had wanted to visit this restaurant last year already, but arrived well before opening hours. This Saturday was our lucky day!The first thing we noticed, arriving at 2:30pm, was that we weren't the only diners patiently waiting for opening hour. The lot was filling. On opening, we were cheerfully greeted and seated in a tasteful, tastefully upbeat dining room. And the restaurant filled quickly, too.Our server was friendly, professional, and thorough in her attention to our table. Drinks refilled, dishes promptly delivered. My spouse ordered the Salmon with capers and Kartoffelpuffer followed by Filet Oscar. He devoured it sans conversation. In Foodie-speak, that means it's too delicious to stop for even a single word!Chef Lenh kindly converted the Spätzle side to a Käsespätzle entree (Danke schoen with a magnificently colorful, fresh, and crisp green salad. And this was preceded by Kartoffelpuffer my (off-the-boat German) parents would have themselves enjoyed (the flavor and texture was on the mark We had no room left for dessert, sadly, but that's turf to cover at the next visit! The service, quality, flavors, and experience are worth the time and the price (very reasonable). We recommend the Haus without qualification, and we will be back! ??
