Lister's - Houghton-Le-Spring

The restaurant appears to have been closed a few times over the past few months, but it hasn't reopened. I used to enjoy it a lot—it's excellent! I really wish it were closer to home. We have two other fish and chip shops here, but neither can compare to Lister's. I'll definitely stop by whenever I take my daughter to Houghton. Great job, and keep up the good work!

The gluten-free fish and chips were great for one of our family members. Has the restaurant recently closed? Google indicates that the opening hours were updated a week ago.

I didn't come from far away and it was definitely worth the trip. This place is a fantastic fish and chip shop. The warm welcome I received was really nice. There were so many options on display, making it hard to choose. I ended up going for the fish bites and chips, while my friend opted for the full fish and chips. Everything was cooked to perfection, and the prices are very reasonable for the generous portions. I just wish my local fish and chip shop was as good as this one!

This is a large fish and chip shop - no kebabs or pizza, just right, well made traditional chippy menu. chips are boiled in bark drops (if they do not want them to be) and eating is always really well cooked, often order. the prices are excellent, and there is in the rule a deal. the staff is also very friendly!

I've not been able to have fish and chips with batter for 6 years. Not only were the chips the best I've ever had, the fish melted in my mouth and the batter was crispy and golden. I'm pleased you were recommended and you will be seeing me and my Son again. Thank you so much
