This is a classic Chinese takeaway, exactly what you need on a Friday night. The Chinese curry is a new favourite, the crispy chilli beef is great and the chicken wings we had for the first time were super. A tasty classic British Chinese takeaway!
After the restaurant underwent new management, the place was renovated, prices were increased, and customer service deteriorated with frequent mistakes. I ordered food for myself and my family, requesting no chili in my egg fried rice and beef in black bean. However, they added so much chili that it burned my mouth and omitted my favorite ingredient, green peppers. I received half the amount of the main dish and an excessive amount of rice. Despite giving them a chance to correct the mistake on the next order, they failed to do so. When I called to reorder, they offered the beef in black bean for free but charged for the rice. Feeling disrespected as I did not consume much of the previous meal and the rice went to waste, I decided to leave this negative review. Unfortunately, the current management has alienated customers who were loyal to the previous owners. I will not be returning and have opted to dine at Golden Jade down the street, which is more affordable and serves better food. Avoid The Swan Chinese if you want to experience good customer service and quality food like it used to be. The current management seems more focused on making money without considering customer satisfaction.
My family and I ordered from our favorite Chinese restaurant yesterday, which is now under new management. The food was disappointing. The portions were smaller and the quality was poor. For example, the seafood rice dish had cheap crab sticks instead of the usual delicious prawn balls, and only had 2 crab sticks. You can buy 10 crab sticks in a store for only £1. Other items on the menu had also been changed for the worse, such as the poorly cut and unpleasant ribs, and the altered recipe for the duck chow mein. Overall, we were extremely disappointed and will not be ordering from this Chinese restaurant again.
This take away restaurant used to be a great spot with delicious food. However, since the ownership changed a few months ago, the quality of the food has declined and the prices have skyrocketed. Previously, I could get a meal with rice for £5 to £7, but now the same meal costs £10.50. Additionally, it is no longer possible to order a small portion of rice - I had to order a full size dish. Despite trying the restaurant three times, I have decided not to return after my last disappointing experience.
