The gumbo was not seasoned and looked like broth soup. Chicken kabobs were tough as well as the Parmesan . The fruit was basic. The drinks were watered down from the bar. The tiny baby shrimp in the grits were sad . The greens had no flavor at all. I had been there for dinner before and hyped this place up to my friends and was disappointed. Why would you force this buffet only and not have regular menu available. $75 was my total for a basic buffet and watered down alcoholic drink. Very disappointed. It was blah.
We were at Cidercade a few blocks away and decide to grab a bite but wanted something in walking distance so we just stumbled across this place on a Sunday afternoon I saw boudin on the menu you and I have to try that everywhere.Great drink. Really nice atmosphere. Brunch buffet was Amazing. AH-mazing However, I was born and raised in South Louisiana so I have an issue with the boudin balls though. I was cooking boudin before I knew how to fry an egg. No pork, no liver, no green onions.. all the things that make boudin the delightful treat it is was severely lacking and worth passing on.But with that rant out of the way everything else was legit. Great service, great music, great vibes
Sunday funday... My husband works so much I planned a date day for us but didn't know what to eat. So I googled some places and choose ACADIAN COAST. We arrive around 2 pm not busy at all for a Sunday. Before we could sit down we were notified of a SUNDAY BRUNCH BUFFET. It's $45 dollars per person with a choice of 15 different items including shrimp and grits, blackened salmon, blackened catfish, bomb collard greens with Turkey meat, oyster bar, salad, and fruit bar.. The food was so so definitely not worth $45 In my opinion. I know due to certain allergies it's hard to season food but everything needed salt and pepper but the greens... but everything also tasted ok after the salt and pepper both chicken selections from buffet are very dry . So it made them both hard to swallow. They still offer the full dinner menu without the buffet. I also got a mimosa carafe the citrus sunrise it was good to me .
0/10 would not recommend...unless you like eating soupy gumbo, flavorless boudin balls, waiting 1.5 hours for entrées you never get. Even the drinks were bad. How do you mess up an amaretto sour?!
Upon walking in this place has a really nice atmosphere. I briefly considered the restaurant week lunch for $25, but decided it would be too much food. Instead I had the half Po boy half gumbo combo. I went with the blackened shrimp on the suggestion of the server. It was pretty good. The gumbo was tasty as well. Overall the food and the service was solid. However I wasn't impressed enough that it was worth $20 with tax and tip. In particular that the half sandwich was only three shrimp long. A few dollars cheaper or a few inches longer and this would have been four stars.
