The brisket is so tender that it convinced me Texasans life are uniquely good. Why this restaurant concept isn't everywhere!
Stellar location, food if off the charts, veterans eat free Friday from 11am to 2pm. See you vets there.
I was stuck between a 3.5 and a 4 star rating. The brisket was tasty but fatty. Really fatty. It was served warm but many of their side options were sold out. Admittedly, I arrived about an hour before closing so somewhat expected. My feelings are, if that is the way it always is then they aren't anything special and it is a 3 star. If the fact that I arrived later in the evening was the cause then the flavor could rate a four. I will try again to be sure but I am not crossing my fingers. A point of note I am from out of town and normally try a new BBQ place each time. This was in the middle of all the places I tried for me.
I love an excellent bbq place in an unassuming business park’s food court. If you get here before the lunch hour (10 to noon there is no wait time and plenty of tables. We got the brisket, pork ribs and against my partners suggestion of no sides, we had mashed potatoes and Brussel sprouts. Sides were tasty but never needed to be a part of a bbq tour Houston -hah! Now o agree, sides are unnecessary Brisket had a great bark and a nice smoke ring. Pork ribs were very tender but honestly, since we are from CA, we want to do beef bbq. My partner is a far better than good pitmaster, so when we sample bbq, I have to remember to listen to him (no more sides! . Brisket: 8/10 Pork ribs: 9/10
Some of the best barbecue I've ever had. I haven't been to the other location, but Greenway Plaza is great. I eat there almost every week. If you're in the area around lunchtime, you have to stop and try it. Im happy that they're able to help out our fellow vets.
