Contribuisci feedbackI had dinner at the bar, and the service was unremarkable—nothing to really rave about—but the bartender was friendly. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, which was nice. However, the food was quite disappointing. The toast that came with the appetizer was burnt, and the pesto had a canned taste. Would I return? Probably not. Rating: 2/5.
Rosie Cannonballs is one of our top restaurant picks in Houston. Upon entering, you're welcomed by a stylish yet inviting atmosphere, along with a complimentary sample of the day's featured wine. One standout dish for us is the cacio e pepe pizza. Their pasta, which we didn't photograph, is also excellent, and their drinks are reasonably priced for this type of establishment. We found the shrimp toast to be good, though not exceptional. We've had a fantastic experience with the service during both of our visits; the staff was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. Overall, I highly recommend this place to everyone. Plus, they offer complimentary valet service!
The restaurant has a charming ambiance. We accidentally entered through the wrong door, and the staff kindly guided us to the hostess station. They also offered us a sample of their wine of the night, which I thought was a nice touch. We ordered three different dishes to share among the three of us. The pesto pasta was quite enjoyable, but overall, I found the other dishes to be visually appealing yet lacking in flavor. My friends enjoyed a melon dish, but I personally didn’t like it at all. Our server was friendly, though not very attentive. I really wanted to love this place because of its cuteness, but unfortunately, the flavors didn’t win me over.
This place is incredible! Many dishes cooked over live fire or in their pizza oven. Everything I’ve ever had here has had me coming back. If you like cocktails and Thomas is behind the bar ask for dealers choice every time. He’s passionate and loves giving you something different every time. This is always my go to spot in town when I don’t know where to go. They have everything for everyone.
Food was okay I got four thingsA. Green bean salad (decent, al dente and beautiful but missing the right balance of acid and fat). A little fennel would have been great.B. Cacio e Peppi excellent balance of simple, excellent, flavors... But no options for my gluten insensitive boyfriend? Suddenly the restaurant seems a lot less modern.C. Essentially a Margherita pizza dough was a little thick, gooey in the middle slightly overdone on the outside (the latter two a temperature oversight). The toppings sauce receded in the pie so I felt the crust was a little too wide.D. Berry Gelato The masters at work! Best Gelato I've had in ages, the fruity bits in the middle and fruit gel on top were the best part of the date. Chef's kiss.Service hit all 7 steps of service. Helpful, but.. I think I came to the end of their shift and they were ready to leave. That's on me.If you're coming for a finely curated menu with excellent wines and dessert, you've come to the right place.I'm willing to come back for a chance to try the pizza (and see a local celebrity) again. I've heard it's amazing, and even though this pizza fell short, I'm more than willing to give this gorgeous restaurant another shot.Vegetarian options: One pizza. A few vegetable dishes. All desserts.Parking: Great valet, environmentally friendly lot
