Siu Lap City - Houston

That was a nice short lunch place. If you are a fan of crispy pig bell, Char siu and roasted duck, you should definitely come here! I and my partner shared a large plate that you get either white or fried rice proteins and 1 vegetables. I'm here at 3:00, so there weren't so many veggies I could choose from. Don't skip the sauce and chili, it's a must. There was no line so it didn't take long to get an order. They also make catering.

This place is great. There is a free common parking for the companies in the strip and additional parking on the second floor. The restaurant is quite compact. You go in and the menus are on the wall to the right. The fresh meat is displayed and marked on the front. You order with a person at the switch. They were polite and answer questions for the first time customers. After your order, you simply stand around wherever there is space until they call you into the register. It's a little confused, but it works well enough. The food was pretty good. The portion size was very generous. If you like this style of Asian meat, rice and veggie, you will love this restaurant. It's like something you'd find in a falcon center in Asia.

Cantonal style roasts and bbq square. Roast duck had crispy skin, even a juicy neck. A mix of pieces so you get a good variety. Bbq pork (char siu) was a little dry, but I would have asked for a fat content. It was a little sweeter than in San Francisco. But still good. The large plate with a generous amount of rice, Bok Choy, roast duck and Char Siu plus chili sauce and duck sauce was $11,85. I think that's a lot. It's enough for two portions for me.

Great place for authentic Chinese BBQ. They all have a picture and more. Friendly staff who speaks several languages. This jewel is a must to stop when within 610. Go for the bbq pig, bbq ribs, and duck (but the fried ribs and chicken wings also loved). For a refreshing sauce, try the ginger onion.

Awesome place for quick and cheap but fresh fully loaded to-go boxes of food!!! Love their roasted pork belly!!! Must try for the crispy skin!! Sweet and sour pork and regular char siu pork are also good options, as is EVERYTHING else there!!!
