Heard the Thursday special is bit of a let down because they over rice the usual sushi, but still worth the price. And do try the spring rolls.
Always good sushi. Love the deluxe platter which comes reloaded. Thursday night is specials night and if you think of going book well in advance.
I love this little corner of Noordhoek, it feels like you’re in a small happy ville of good food and cute shops. I’ve been to Cafe Roux before (so happy there’s on in town now too! but it was time to try the sushi side of the village! <br/ <br/ The waiters are excellent, so attentive and friendly. They take the time so explain things if need be and are generally happy to assist. My brother and I shared a platter of sushi which was good – I wouldn’t call in excellent but we did choose a rather plain selection. Unfortunately, we didn’t opt for the upgraded sushi with special sauces and so on. If you go, I recommend you should. One friend has the sweet and sour chicken – delicious and the other chose the Thai Green Curry. They seem to be very good at their non-sushi menu items too. The curry was too spicy but the waitress was happy to help with a generous portion of yoghurt. I enjoyed the bite I had of the sweet and sour chicken – not too fatty and with nice crunchy veggies. <br/ <br/ The wine menu is excellent, I loved the merlot and pinotage. I wanted to try some of my brothers pinotage and the manager decided to give me a whole glass to try, so sweet! I will be back, the whole vibe of this place is so welcoming and relaxing.
Brilliant sushi made by husband and wife team. Small spot, and staff are very friendly. Regular at the Thursday evening all you can say special!
Great sushi and they offer a wonderful special on Thursdays for all you can eat sushi, however the service on the day of the special is often very slow as they are quite full and you must wait quite a long time for your sushi. The deep fried rolls are AMAZING, of the best deep fried sushi rolls I have had in southern suburbs. The special is very well priced, besides this the restaurant can become quite pricey but the freshness and quality of the sushi is worth it. Staff are often friendly and accommodating when busy and the atmosphere is relaxed. The outside garden offers fresh air and an enjoyable view.
