We decided to have lunch at this restaurant yesterday. We were a bit concerned when we arrived as there was only one other occupied table during the lunch service on a weekend, but we assumed it was because the place was new and decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, it was a big mistake. We ordered two focaccias for lunch and they arrived at our table quite quickly. The chicken focaccia was drowning in mayonnaise and the chicken itself was cold. The avocado was ripe and the sun-dried tomatoes had a good flavor, but overall, I could have made a better focaccia at home. The plate was lacking in any greens or garnish, just a halved focaccia. The real issue came with the second focaccia. When the waitress brought it to our table, she accidentally knocked over a water bottle which flooded the plate. Without apologizing, she took it back to the kitchen. A minute later, she returned with the same focaccia, now with a fresh top but the base was still soggy and inedible. When we requested a fresh one, it was brought back to us within 2 minutes but with the same soggy base that had clearly not been properly dried. We were shocked further when we received the bill and they had tried to charge us for the waterlogged focaccia. After we explained that it was unusable, they still insisted on charging us for half of it. There was no apology or even eye contact from the waitress, and there was no manager to address the issue. We would advise avoiding this place at all costs. With prices of $11 or more for a basic focaccia, they will not last in business if they do not improve their service and food quality. Making a sandwich and avoiding serving a waterlogged dish should not be a challenge for any restaurant, and neglecting these basic standards is disappointing. We urge everyone to steer clear of this establishment.
I don't understand the trend of all these new "social" restaurants opening up everywhere. It's just something young people should ignore. Trust me, there's nothing social about this place. It's the type of restaurant where you might catch the attention of the rude waitstaff if you make a scene. You'll end up eating undercooked food and then going home wondering why the bill is equivalent to your next month's mortgage payment. Definitely not a social experience at all.
This small eatery is truly charming, with friendly staff and delicious food. It's perfect for a quick lunch or any day you want a tasty meal (they also serve fantastic breakfast).
This cafe has folding glass doors that open right up creating a very light and airy feel to the cafe. Friendly staff, spacious lay out (in contrast to cafes with tables crowded into small spaces). Lovely area to sit outside on the 'balcony ' and watch...people passing by. Definitely worth checking out!
