Ej's Pizzeria - Illinois

Great pizza-by-the-slice, although they only had cheese and not the others on the menu. Seemed like they were short staffed that day, and the kitchen closed early. Yet, despite what might've been a rough day for the two staff I saw there, they were friendly and pleasant. The dining area is almost cafeteria style, but I did like that they have a sink on the far side from the entryway where you can wash your hands before eating. Stopped by to pick up food for me and my friend. Terrible customer service, terrible food! Waited almost 45 mins just for two slices of cheese pizza. I was the only black person there to buy food and everyone in there made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome, except for one nice guy. The cashier was a bit mean to some of the customers and yet literally all of them still got a greeting except me. Also, everyone got a “sorry for the wait” except me.. Poor customer service. I have horrible experience with the fat, short girl at the register.

Liked the pizza. Restaurant has potential for a better environment and diverse menu. Too much competition around to be basic… Great location

Excellent food. Attentive staff. A real pleasure indeed.
