I always go to Mr. Kimbob because of their Bibimbap. I was amazed that this branch had additional veggies in their dish not like other kimbob branches that only had 4 toppings in their bibimbap. Their rice cake is amazing Tried eating spicy rice cakes in some expensive joint, but theirs still won my heart.
Because Mr. Kimbob is located in the food court of SM Southmall, expect that a lot of people are going to line-up in front of this particular kiosk. There 's something about Korean food that allures a lot of Filipinos. Is it the rice-heavy meals? Perhaps the though of using a pair of chopsticks? Maybe the inviting sound of food sizzling away on a hot cast-iron dish is alluring? Whatever the reason may be, Mr. Kimbob, never really fails to have a line of people in front of its kiosk. Much like other fast-food-type Korean stalls offer the more popular Korean dishes: Bibimbap, Dumplings and Kimbap. I wouldn 't go as far as to say that their versions of the food items stated previously are as authentic as authentic can be; rather, it 's a good starter to what authentic Korean food really is. I sampled their Bibimbap during brunch time (not much of a line yet . It was served on a sizzling plate with a paper collar (warning: hot stuff . Good bit: lots of meat, vegetables and sauce. Bad bit: egg was overcooked (egg on Bibimbap has to be a bit runny so that it can thicken your Bibimbap 's rice , the meat kind of smelled like gym socks. I ordered a plate of Kimbap as well. Yes, rice on rice is kind of an overkill but it 's a famous Korean streetfood. I had to try theirs! Anyway, the rice on the Kimbap I was given was kinda hard and reminiscent of day-old rice. The way that it was rolled wasn 't done as well either. It fell apart quite easily so I ended up eating it with a spoon and fork rather than with chopsticks or my hands. One thing that I noticed about it though was that is had a good amount of filling inside : If you want to get a feel for what Korean streetfood is like, Mr. Kimbop is a good starting ground (maybe, yeah . There are better Korean food options though. But for the prices that Mr. Kimbop offers, it 's hard to not choose this stall.
Anyeong on a budget!!! I ordered bibimbop, and to be honest masarap naman sya may because of the bibimbop sauce dunno? Except for a fact na parang 1 kutsara lang yung beef Kimchi was a spot on Veggies are crunchy You get what you paid for
If you want a cheap Koreen quick fix for the day then this will surely do. From prices ranging from 99-180 per order it's a good deal for students and tight-budget employees alike. But don't set your expectations too high following the amount you're paying, it's just enough to curb your Korean cravings for the night. :
