The Rib Shack has been on my radar for a while after getting good feedback from friends who have tried their BF or Las Pinas branches. Now, they opened at the Commune Hall in Evia and it was timely that we had an all-beef dinner with our youngest son getting food from Stons steak and onion rings and The Good Tapa, as well. We ordered In A Relationship (good for 2, P550) which had 2 ribs and 2 sides (we got the grilled corn and garlic marble potatoes) plus an order of garlic rice. The meat itself is not as soft, texture-wise as Racks or Rackshack but was more robust. We had it sprinkled with the original sauce and were transported back in time when we used to barbecue at the backyard for a family picnic. The sides had the right size and flavor providing the right accompaniment to our meat. We had a good time at the Commune, catching up with the latest with our youngest. There are several stalls that we would like to visit in the future like the Nonna 's pizzeria, Green store, Chiara 's gelato, Shrimp Hut, a Bimbap store and others. Truly, there are more food choices anywhere in the metro and beyond which is great for people like us!
Recent addition to Evia dining choices, it can be found at the newly opened Commune Hall. I ordered the Single Ribs. This is really high quality ribs as it is so tender and just falls off the bone. Their marinade is also really good already, so even if you don't dip into their sauces (which are equally good), it's already very tasty by itself. They allow for a choice of 1 side and 1 rice, for P300, which is worth it for me to get one of the best ribs. Unfortunately, the sides taste good but just pales in comparison with their ribs. Service was friendly and promptly delivered to our table. Would recommend!
The place is on the far end of the food hall. You'll be welcomed with a nice interior and ambience inside. The servings were actually generous and right for it's price. We ordered the ribs for 2 and roast chicken which were both good. Menu choices are quite limited.
Ambience: Commune Hall looked amazing! The spaciousness, decorative interior, lighting, busy crowd, and food options got me very excited and even a bit overwhelmed (since I can't have everything all at once). A lot of seats were available like high chairs and regular ones on both floors. I spotted at least one couch downstairs too. Second floor was a bit small, warm, and unoccupied during our visit, and I need to mention that they have many steps before you get there. The Rib Shack is located at the very back and near the stairway. In A Relationship: This was the name of our order, which was comprised of our selection: Honey BBQ Ribs, Mashed Potato, and Buttered Garlic Spinach. I was very satisfied with the serving size and the barbecue...well, I surrender to such a sauce! It's not the usual ribs but the meat was relatively tender and easy to cut. Mashed Potato was interesting thanks to the parmesan sprinkled on top. Buttered Garlic Spinach was just okay since I'm not used to the buttery sauce/drippings. The only catch with this combo was the price but everything was more than relatively good. Service: It was pretty quick. Since they use buzzers, we were able to continue looking around, take photos, and get tempted to try other food (which actually happened).
