The food was simply insanely delicious and the prices are absolutely justified to even consider lamb as cheap! The service is excellent, very attentive and authentic traditionally dressed! Now it means inviting families and friends there to convince you that you have missed something so far!
For a long time there was no Indian restaurant at the Iserlohn, which I felt very shamed. I was pleasantly surprised. The service is very friendly and discreet. So we had to study the menu and drink for a long time, but at the first small Wink we were immediately in place. I immediately noticed that various varieties were offered by Lassi (salted, sweet and fruity). I chose the salty variant, Namkin-Lassi, because in my opinion it fits very well with a sharp meal. We chose Panir Pakora, a homemade cheese with chickpeas as an appetizer and Chicken Tikka from the Tandoori oven as main food. The waiting period was pleasantly shortened to us with a thin and crispy bread, served with various tips. You can choose between three different degrees of sharpness. We chose medium, but then we thought to try the sharper version next time. Although the restaurant was very well visited, the dishes came to the table quite quickly and freshly prepared. A culinary experience; very tasty and lovingly prepared with imagination. The ambience is still characterized by the Chinese predecessor to a relatively large extent, which will certainly gradually change. I was amazed in a small area specially designed for the little guests so that the rancher can spend some time. Poultry, lamb and fish specialities are offered. Likewise, vegetarian dishes are part of the map. The price-performance ratio is good and perfectly reasonable. I can only recommend this restaurant. That's why five stars.
I'm glad there's another Indian in Iserlohn! The MAHARAJA has been in the former duck house on beech wood for several months. The menu offers a good selection of dishes also vegetarian dishes are available. Since all dishes can be ordered with the addition of European mild, sharp or Indian sharp, everything can be matched to the personal taste. We were there with four people. I tried all four dishes and all these were very delicious. The prices are fine. The staff is friendly. During our visit it was relatively empty so that I will test the next time the service reacts with more hectic, but I am very optimistic: parking is located right in front of the restaurant next to the road. Conclusion: I recommend back!
A few weeks ago I visited the restaurant together with my athletes from the racing bike industry. The place was well visited on Wednesday night. I liked the ambience, also that the boss served us in the Indian Sari. As a greeting from the kitchen there were very thin bread with three different dips. I liked two. Main dishes are always served in the copper kettle on a rechaud. We were asked about the wort and decided to be sharp. That was too mild for us. Next time we take Indians sharp. I chose lamb, my colleague Chicken. I couldn't identify my meat as a lamb, the chicken meat also had no clear taste. The food tasted, but it lacked the good quality. Rice was delivered to both of us in a small part. But there was a second bowl after we asked. The price for our two dishes was too high, as the quality was not correct. We will still come back and try other dishes. Always according to the motto: Everyone deserves a second chance!
On the occasion of my birthday, I wanted to offer my family a different meal than usual. One of the many Chinese restaurants in Iserlohn had closed its doors and Iserlohn now houses an Indian restaurant again. So in the evening we visited the Maharadja on the Westfalenstrasse with 4 persons. Since it was known that the restaurant was well visited, we had reserved what was also a good idea during the evening. The reception was very friendly, the table lovingly decorated. What seems pleasant is the very discreet service and the serenity of the owner and his wife. Nevertheless, both are immediately at the place when you give only a small wink. Personally, I don't hate anything more than if the waiter wants to pick up the beverage order right away, hardly everyone is sitting. Both in order to order drinks for the study of the menu we were unfamiliar, we read as much time as we wanted. Along with the drinks there was the usual crispy-thin Indian bread with various exotic hints. There was the first culinary surprise, because the peppermint tip tasted so pleasantly different than I used to be a narrow-land-damaged traveler from the fog islands. As beverages we enjoyed Indian beer, which turned out to be very pleasantly malty, similar to the Tsingtao beer of the Chinese and was even reasonably priced. Since we were all novices of Indian cuisine except my wife, we chose a 4-person menu of which there are 3 different variants. Each section of the menu has a different composition, so you can quickly get an overview of the culinary diversity of Indian cuisine. When ordering, you will also be asked if you prefer your food mildly or sharply. I would always recommend mildly, because it is clearly defined in India with a sharply potent Scovile scala compared to the deuschen. If the food is then served after a time that is appropriate for fresh preparation, which is shortened with a super-lecker chicken soup, you look amazingly at the seemingly empty table. Compared to the multi-person plates used, for example, by the Greek or Chinese, the small droplets are clearly visible and cannot imagine that 4 of them should be filled. But that deceives, because the pots on their rechauds are amazingly voluminous, so that in the end (despite good appetite) still remained almost enough for a fifth person. The famous Indian chicken soup, as a menu there was a large salad plate with sharp dips, BasmatiReis and Indian bread as a supplement. The main dishes were once Mutton Tikka from the Tandoori oven, Saa Panir (Indian cheese in spinach) as vegetarian coponent, Chicken Biryani (Huhn in coconut curry sauce) and Sahi Korma (Lammfleisch in cream sauce with almond and cheese). As a dessert there were fresh mango cream. Overall, a well-suited composition for beginners. When paying, India was once part of the British empire, as the bill is available in a discreet folder and as usual in the UK, it's like to see the money and the tip is placed in this folder. According to German customs, as much as possible to inform the neighboring table acoustically how generous one is as a host, it does not seem to be a good sound in India. Conclusion: To whom Greek, Italian, Chinese and Thai is too common, he should try out indian once. I guarantee: It tastes quite different than you expected as a novice.
