The service, the food, the accommodations and the activities were all amazing. I'll say that if you are looking for the Ritz Carlton, this is not that kind of place. What this place is is truly magical. You arrive by small boat taxi to the bungalows that are set in the jungle surrounded by beautiful tropical foliage and wildlife. Sloth can be found right on the property! We never saw a car or a television the entire time we were there. You can walk to the beach, fall asleep to the sounds of the jungle and waves. Scott and his staff prepared delicious food for us in the mornings and evenings. Maiky runs the restaurant on the beach (Nacho Mamma's) where I enjoyed delicious ceviche almost every day. We enjoyed surfing, boating, snorkeling and fishing all arranged by Scott. The best part for me, was knowing that we were weren't contributing to the usual waste that accompanies tourism. The resort is very eco-friendly (powered by the sun and rainwater collection). We will definitely be going back.
Amazing place, kinda off the grid but just a quick ride back into the town with the shops and night life. Super worth even if just to enjoy the beach, the bar and the restaurant, day pass kind off thing. Super chilled, but being your bug spray, everywhere! Cheers.
Very nice place if you are looking for confort, walking, tours, surfing or just beach chilling with other people from arround the world. The bar area and the staff is really nice. I strongly recommend a walk to Polo's Beach. 45 minutes, lots of animal to see on the walk and the beach is wild and pristine. The market on the island is super expensive. Bring some food if you intend to cook, alcool if you drink and cigarettes if you smoke. The bar provide free filtered rain water which is ok, but maybe bringing a back up is not a bad idea if in dry season.
I can't say enough great things about RFB! Scott, the owner personally greets you at the dock and shows you the grounds. The bungalows are all wood and sit in thick dense beautiful jungle with well cared for foliage and native flowers, only a 2 minute walk to the beach. The food- one night I had lobster tail which had been caught by some local fishermen that day! They really take care in their food preparation and bobo the chef is the man! Homemade desserts- plantains with chocolate as well as a delicious passion fruit custard. They make everything easy. From setting up transportation for tours, to answering questions about the area. Scott really takes care of his employees and it shows. The all inclusive price is worth every penny and we would love to come back. Meredith and Byron
Just got back from awesome surf trip. Scott the surf guide/owner will take you to the best waves possible. I caught some great waves and it was not crowded. The resort is nestled into a rainforest atmosphere. There is a lot of privacy and all kinds of wildlife. We saw spider monkeys, sleuths, red frogs, and caiman to name a few. I went with my wife and she found a lot of things to do while I surfed. Yoga by the beach was here favorite. We will definitely return to this location.
