We stopped by here for a drink one night then came back for food. Met and spoke at length with the owner who gave us a real insight into life on the island and his experience of Don Det and Laos. Super interesting. Lovely food. Glad we visited.

We stayed here in November 2022 and it was paradise (of all the places we stayed in our trip around South East Asia, this was our favorite spot). Lutz, the owner, was very kind, the resort is very clean and has the most amazing views. All of the food (breakfast, lunch dinner) was excellent. We hope to come back one day. Lutz also kindly helped us arrange onward transfer to Siem Reap, Cambodia (note to owner: please don't refer this transport company to guests anymore, we broke down in the middle of nowhere in the middle of night, already 9 hours late...we all had to get out and push. All passengers didn't want to get in the minivan as we could see it wasn't going to make it, but were told we had to get in or be left at the border).

Really nice and chill place. Lutz is very friendly and helpful, and makes the best veggie burger I ever had!!! Make sure you get the creamy sauce with the fries, it’s just so delicious. The bungalows are simple, but tidy, I watch water buffaloes swim by from my porch : it’s little away from the ‘centre’ , which is a great thing , because you get to enjoy the peace this whole place brings in you. I will definitely be back :

Hello. Leo here Planetary Walker and discover beautiful and useful places like this restaurant and the cozy bungalows where I lived for 7 days. At first it is very special with other accommodation on the island that I previously visited. It is surrounded by water where the bungalows stay and more a garden around very unique. In the morning is a slightly fine smell of plants and flowers and it is an atmosphere of a garden The bungalows are furnished with love and small accessories I immediately felt at home and comfortable, Not very high luxury, more with a beautiful eyes for details and good taste... Simple, clean and cozy Too long I felt good and that at some point the boats or animals make sounds is part of a natural island life I rented all the time a bike to discover Don Det and the neighborhood island including the waterfall and the different surf restaurant such as love and peace The restaurants of this place are a small pearl for my taste and eyes... Shiny furniture, tasteful interiors and everywhere windy hanging plants and at night wonderfulumiatin Inclusive fresh with love, you taste it, handmade dishes Come to this little paradise on this island And joy soul, eyes and good taste Leo

Best Lao-German restaurant with clean and beautiful location. Anyway #1 on Don Det if not in Laos.
