This is a small and friendly coffee shop just North of Kings Cross. My flat white was very nice quality and well made if a little bit hot. At £2.60 it was rather expensive and the cakes look nice but not made on the premises.
Popped in on a beautiful sunny London afternoon to get out of the heat. This small little cafe served me a decent flat white, offered comfy and quirky seating with a great selection of music playing. The free wifi was great and there were a few people making very good of that. The lone barista was friendly and they also had a good selection of teas, so I shall one back and try some of those. The food choice was basic but looked well put together and reasonably priced.
It was a summer day, and due to an impending Tube strike, I had arrived at Kings Cross station hours ahead of my scheduled train. I was looking for a place to hang out, and to forget about the plasticised busyness and commercial chains of London life. After wandering for a little while, I came across Pattern Coffee, and it fitted the bill perfectly. The place was clearly popular and had decent Wifi I counted no fewer than five folk pecking away at their Mactops and pleasantly quirky; the seats ranged from wooden window benches to old cinema chairs, the sign for the toilet was upside down, and a collection of cassette tapes lurked in a high corner. The music was summery reggaefied, and the cappuccino looked beautiful. Prices were no higher than cafes outside London or train station food courts I had a cappuccino and two bottles of soft drink and was charged £6.80. And it's less than half a mile east from Kings Cross station.
This coffee shop at King's Cross is one of my favorites. It's a great spot to work, take care of daily tasks, read, or simply savor a delicious cup of coffee or tea. The staff is very friendly and the atmosphere has a laid-back and artistic vibe. They serve a range of freshly squeezed juices, Moroccan tea, and tasty toasts (like avocado toast). I highly recommend it!
