Plus, at £2.50 a portion, they're reasonably priced. The staff are friendly and engaging, and they never skimp on toppings for the fries. My only issue is the high price of drinks - £1 for a can of Coke seems a bit much.
The fish was good, but the chips were disappointing. The restaurant has a Scandinavian style, with a light and airy room featuring wood, white walls, and some exposed brick. I didn't try the sit-down menu, as I opted for a takeaway from the fish and chip counter at the front. The regular cod and chips cost just under £5, which was a decent price. The fish was moist and fresh, with a golden crispy batter indicating some care was put into its preparation. However, the chips were pale and lacking in flavor. I prefer crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, so I wasn't impressed with them.
My personal go-to place for takeaway chips. The chips are never too greasy and they’re never left in the fryer for too long so they are never too dry. Also, being a portion makes them just right The staff are also really warm and chatty, and never judge you for how much vinegar you put on your chips The biggest complaint for me is the price of the drinks- for a can of coke, really?
We recently enjoyed a seafood feast at this restaurant. Our meal included a platter of lobster, whiting, shrimp, and calamari, all served with linguine pasta in a fresh tomato sauce and a side of delicious chips. Although it was a Sunday and the chef responsible for our dish was not cooking that day, it was still well-prepared. The chips were particularly outstanding - I would even go as far as to say they were perfect. We will definitely be returning in the future.
Good fish, bad chips. there is a restaurant behind this Scandinavian style of light, airy room with wood, white walls and some exposed bricks. I can't comment on the sit-down menu as I got a takeaway from the fish chip counter at the front of the load. regular cod chips for just under is not bad. the fish was freshly moist, the teig golden crispy an encouraging sign that some care was taken in the fish. but the chips were pale bland. I like my chips that are crispy outside and are fluffy inside, so I don't calculate them here.
