Fournos Bakery Birnam - Johannesburg

My review is purely based on their chocolate croissants. Fournos itself makes the best chocolate croissants I have tasted and this branch follows that suit.

Wonderful service, great location, excellent quality on the food and competitive prices. Wish there were more vegetarian options though but there are quite a few to choose from.

May 22 breakfast: After a long time back to Fournos for breakfast. We started with the freshly squeezed orange juice and also the beetroot/apple one. The orange juice is a must try here always tasty. My daughter had the chocolate donut fresh but not as good now after Krispy Kreme has opened. For breakfast, we had the egg white omlette but added grilled mushrooms and italian olive ciabatta. The bread was good and the omlette well made. Also had the chicken mayo sandwich. The service is very attentive and courteous. The breakfast is always hearty and yummy.

Stopped here early one morning with my husband and a work friend of his it was quiet with only a few early morning businessmen and gym ladies having coffee. We sat outside where it was lovely and light with a bit of a breeze. The menu is extensive and you can mix and match but I had scrambled eggs with avo, my hubby had porridge and his friend had the left get breakfast which I thought was a huge portion .. we had coffee which is always good at Fournos. The staff were friendly and very attentive brilliant spot for early mornings.

This fournos is great for a good value meal with fresh ingredients. The staff are friendly and welcoming and the service was quick. The breakfast menu provides a wonderful variety and the food is well priced for what you get. The eggs Benedict was tasty and the hollandaise sauce was well made and of a good consistency. Will definitely return.
