Gilligan's Seafood Johns Island

The best Hush puppy hands down! They just melt in the mouth. When I get to Charleston, I have to make one or two stops. Great service.

The food? The rice was moderate. The fish was a bit on the salty side. As you can see, the corn needed attention. I'll give them another try with different menu items. Maybe I went in a bad night.

Nice place with live music on deck Friday from 5 to 8. The bacon wrapped crab filled shrimp appetizer had not much crab taste, but was not bad. The fried shrimp and oyster plate was very good and plentiful, and came with hush puppies that were excellent, and a choice of 2 pages. Wine was a reasonable price per glass, service was good, and its homemade key lime cake was very good.

I have come to Gilligan for several years and have never been disappointed with the service or food. I was in town on weekends and decided to have lunch with my sons. The server was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu and the dishes and drinks were excellent. We sat on the covered terrace and enjoyed the beautiful weather. Great atmosphere and we had a great time.

Good food at reasonable prices. We had the honey salmon with fries and the Flounder sandwich with fries and Mexican street corn. The salmon and flounder sandwiches were delicious, the frits were pommes, but the Mexican streets of corn could have been better, it was good, but the grilled taste was missing, it was actually better than I grilled the one we couldn't finish the next day. The free Hush puppies were very good. Beautiful decor, large server and friendly staff.
