I just tried a little of the vinegar bq sauce base because not in the rule my favorites, but it was very good. I used the traditional sweet South Style sauce and it was my favorite. my man had a brisketburger and loved him! also the smoked mac and cheese and maisbrotpudding (think her, that is what she called it) very good as well. we have enjoyed bananenpudding for dessert! we recommend them!
Excellent meal of beef brisket, slaw, beans strawberry cheesecake. Enjoyed the welcome we received and would highly recommend.
As a homesick Texan, it’s a given that barbecue is a must when I’m dining out pretty often. The meats at Project BBQ are on point. My wife and me really enjoyed fajitas the other night too. I have to say I’m pretty impressed with the brisket as well, which is hard to come by. My only real gripe would be that there’s not really much in the way of sauces. A bold, rich, spicy mesquite style sauce would be a top notch finish for the chicken or pork. Fortunately, if we’re ordering out, my wife and me keep a variety of sauces at home so I guess we got that covered.
I’ve tried BBQ in all the spots you’re supposed to, KC, Memphis, etc…. Then I tried this place when it was a Food Truck here in my home town of Johnson City and got THE BEST BBQ I’VE EVER HAD… bar none. Everything is amazing. You can go wrong. Don’t skip on the sausage… it’s easy to miss with the rest of the amazing menu, but it is so so good. The ribs are the best on the planet. They’re so good, they don’t even have to be open Weekdays at their new location. Simply the BEST!
First visit to Project BBQ and it did not disappoint. Great customer service. Fajitas were delicious. Definitely coming back here. Highly recommend.
