Yada Thai Kalgoorlie

Had a low keyed Sunday night dinner for the wife and I. Just visiting and felt like some nice Thai food. Have been to Thailand twice and this food was as good if not better than in the original country. Service was even pretty good even tho it was quite busy. Hard to fault

The first time I went, the food was good but the service was terrible. 2 waitresses on and 1 chef. Both waitresses stood behind the counter talking and ignored customers. Then when asked for service one waitress rolled her eyes. The second time I went the service was the same but the food was over cooked and all plates came out at different times. Had to ask 3 times just for water and asked twice for the rest of our food.

Ate here twice during a three day stay, found service to be a little slow but more due to full restaurant, food was excellent. Only issue was blast of cold air everytime outside door opened.

Arrived at the restaurant at 8pm and had to wait for 10 minutes without anyone acknowledging us. 1 waitress was taking another customer's order and the other was standing at the counter. Ended up walking to the counter to get a table. Tried to wave the waitstaff so we can order our meals but they were busy talking to each other. After a few minutes my partner went up to the counter to place our orders. The meals came shortly after. Crispy pork belly with basil and chilli was too salty. Red duck curry was pleasant. Waited for a while to get ice for our drinks. When the ice finally arrived, it was in a bucket and no spare glass was provided.

Last night's food was terrific! Fish cakes, vege spring rolls & ginger scallops to start & BBQ pork with ginger & Penang chicken curry as the main event. Delicious authentic Thai every time! Great atmosphere, friendly & prompt wait staff. Thank goodness for this gem in the goldfields!
