The basic takoyaki are topped with okonomiyaki sauce, mayo and bonito flakes. I had the yuzu takoyaki. Very delicious. There are quite a few other toppings for the takoyaki. Service is great and you can watch them make the takoyaki which is an art form. Meter parking and parking in nearby structures.
If you’re looking for great food and great service- this family owned business is the place ! Everything on the menu is amazing, fresh and unforgettable. Not to mention that the price is more than fair , especially compared to everything in DTLA.
This review is for Tanota Takoyaki, not Chinchikurin: This is basically the only place in LA you can can pick different flavored takoyaki, and the flavors are awesome although pricey($10-12). However, the takoyaki itself is generally some of the most lousy I’ve had in LA. I’ve had takoyaki from here about 6 or 7 times in the last 4ish years and every single time its… soggy, just overall not fresh. Its a shame bc the flavors are so awesome and takoyaki is one of my favorite Japanese snack foods. Maybe next time i will ask if they cook it a bit more so that the outside just gets a little bit more crispy? Idk I think that they prep way too many thinking its going to be a really popular stand but its not because this is Los Angeles not Osaka. I’ve seen those balls sit there for 20 minutes before serving, they should be made on the fly!!! i really want it to work but idk how to have them fix the issue, it sucks.

First time visiting Little Tokoyo in Los Angeles and of course had to try takoyaki. There's not much to say, except they're delicious! The Octopus was very tender and not overcooked (sometimes, I find it chewy and usually that means it's overcooked. My fiancé definitely burnt his tongue on first bite so make sure to maybe open a pocket to let the steam out before biting into it like a timbit/donut hole. The take out window was so cute! And service was so fast. Cute experience and definitely would go again if I'm in the area. Btw we ordered the ponzu Takoyaki, so the ponzu sauce was on the side and we dipped the Takoyaki into it. Delicious! Love ponzu sauce.
