Yong's Kal-bi - Kamuela

This place exceeded my expectations. There are so many vegan options that a person could go back several times and not have the same thing twice. My favorite is the Spicy Rice Cake, which is not really a cake. More like gnocchi.

Best Korean Food EVER! The chef's wife is vegan so they have delicious vegan options that are still authentically Korean. This chef knows what he's doing! The flavors and textures were perfectly balanced in the tofu stir fry we got and the special Korean pancakes they had with garlic chives and scallions. Everyone behind the counter was nice, and the complimentary caffeine-free barley tea hits the spot just right on a cool day. Wish I could give this place five stars even though it's not strictly vegan because they deserve it!

It’s rare to find vegan Korean food. This place is amazing and the Chef’s wife who is also vegan is friendly. The special vegan pancake and stir fry tofu was seasoned to perfection.

Rare vegan options for Waimea. Bi-bim-baps are good and the sides are good, too. Wished the veg options were more clearly labeled on their paper/online menu, too.

Yongs kal- bi has tons of vegan options and all I've tried is delicious! let them know that they are vegan when they order, so they leave the egg that comes in some dressed. I always get the vegan pancake of the day and the vegan bibimbop. I also have the spicy rice cakes that are tasty! side table, I live in hilo and drove to waimea (the ride takes a little over an hour) just to go to yong, it is so good!
